1. Who we are

Get Your Gaff operates the rental platform at getyourgaff.ie (the "Service"). We connect renters with letting agents in Ireland. When we say "we", "us", or "our", we mean Get Your Gaff.

2. What data we collect

If you are a renter:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number
• Profile details: occupation, employer, salary band, move-in date, number of occupants, pets, bio
• Documents you upload: proof of income, references, ID (stored securely, only shared with agents you apply to)
• Application activity: properties you expressed interest in, viewing history, status updates

If you are a letting agent:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number
• Property listings you create: address, photos, rent, descriptions, and related details
• Application and viewing management activity

Automatically collected:

• Login activity and session data (managed by Supabase Auth)
• Basic usage data (pages visited, features used)

3. How we use your data

• To operate the platform — matching renters with properties and agents
• To send in-app notifications and transactional emails (e.g. application updates, viewing invitations)
• To allow agents to review renter profiles and documents when they apply
• To review property listings before approval (admin moderation)
• To improve the Service and fix bugs

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.

4. Who we share your data with

• Agents — when you apply to their property, they can see your profile and the documents you choose to share
• Supabase — our database and storage provider (EU data hosting). See supabase.com/privacy

We do not share your data with any other third parties without your consent.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Property listings and associated application history may be retained for up to 12 months for dispute resolution purposes, after which they are deleted.

6. Your rights under GDPR

As a person in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to how we process your data

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland).

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in (session cookies). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No cookie consent banner is required for strictly necessary cookies under GDPR.

8. Security

Your data is stored in an encrypted database. Documents are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket — only you and agents you apply to can access them. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
